Tradesy - Horrible So-Called "Authenticators"
This online retailer has horrible so-called "authenticators," business practices, and customer care practices. I sold a wedding dress via their site, accurately listed the item and took accurate photographs.
In the listing and at the time of sale, I indicated there was a small stain on the dress that the drycleaners could not remove. Even though I warned the buyer about this and to not try to clean the dress herself as it was silk and subject to staining, the buyer indicated she would do so anyway. Although the website clearly states that there are no returns on wedding items, the buyer initiated a return stating that there were undocumented stains on the dress. I immediately contacted Tradesy indicating my suspicion the buyer tried to clean the dress herself and submitted documentation in the form of pictures of my credit card statement documenting the drycleaning as well as correspondence via the Tradesy platform showing the buyer intended to clean the dress herself.
I also offered up any additional documentation as needed by Tradesy. No response from Tradesy until it was basically โtoo lateโ and they accepted the return and sent the dress back to me.
After numerous email correspondence and hours of wated time on my part they finally offered me nothing more than reimbursing me for the cost of re-drycleaning the dress. Nevermind that they essentially cost me a sale, countless hours of my time, shipping costs of the dress, and a ruined dress that is no longer in the same state as to when shipped to the buyer.
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
