Called them with this complaint and almost immediately started to get sales and enquiries. Not sure we will ever find out why we became invisible for two weeks on their website.

This is resolved somehow after a phone call on the subject my sales and enquiries went back to just below normal levels.

Tradesy is quietly launching a new program for their “Business” sellers and below is an email that has been sent out recently. Normally this wouldn’t be news but because this will have an impact on single sellers on their site, you should be aware of what’s coming and why your sales may slow way down.

offering business sellers to opt in to a new program that allows your items to be seen front and center to anyone that is a first time buyer on the platform.

“As you know, we greatly appreciate your business on Tradesy and are committed to maintaining a successful, growing relationship. We are excited to let you know that we have a new opportunity we are testing to increase your exposure on Tradesy.

Currently, all first-time buyers are introduced to a vast majority of products from several brands, categories, and sellers. Moving forward, we will be exposing our first-time buyers to a curated collection of excellent product that can be offered at a discount. We are offering you the opportunity to opt into an exclusive collection that is specifically exposed to more than 50% of our daily traffic.

The inventory you opt into this feature will be in an evergreen sale that is only visible to first-time buyers. All existing users will not see these items on sale. You can still run this inventory on sale per your allotted 21-seller-sale days per quarter.

If you would like to opt into this feature, then please respond with the inventory you would like to include. We are requiring a 10% minimum discount for all inventory. However, you are able to exclude brands or categories from this opt-in feature. As always, the larger discount will result in higher curation in the category. All mens items will automatically be excluded from this category.

Again, this will be an evergreen sale running for all first-time buyers and any inventory opted in will be subject to the discount. This exposure will give you the chance to capture that first-time buyer and offer them an excellent Tradesy experience from the first visit. “

If you’re a business seller, then this is a great opportunity for you but my concern is that the thousands of sellers that have a normal selling account are going to see their sales slow down, a lot. So, as a single seller, what can you do? Not much but make sure your items are described accurately with any flaws noted, pictures are clear and there are several showcasing everything and utilize the tags that are available to you. Other than that, market your closet like you would your business. Think Instagram, Facebook Groups and I know of several sellers sell on multiple platforms with great success.

Tradesy are promoting business sellers in several ways, thus if you are a non business seller you have a limited chance of selling. It is like been at the back of the line.

The way they do this is with a sales tab, business seller 24/ 7/365 if a buyer clicks the sale tag. Private seller may have item priced less at a better quality.
