I bought a wedding dress on Tradesy (>350$) and the dress did not arrive in the condition advertised. It was listed as "New With Tags" and showing "No Signs of Wear." When it arrived, it did not have the original tags, had multiple snags in the embroidery and two (in the front) in the silk.
I contacted customer service via their chat option (which seems to be always well-staffed! Good job there.) and was informed that because the item is in their "wedding" section, the standard return policy does not apply. I checked their return policy prior to ordering, and it was NOT made clear that the EXCEPTION to their policy was the ENTIRE WEDDING SECTION. The ENTIRE wedding section!!
My recourse is, at the moment, to work directly with the seller. Should the seller refuse a return -- even for a mislisted item -- Tradesy has told me they will help by "urging" the seller to work with me.
I think this seller is an honest person, so I hope we can work this out. That said, TRADESY's policy of NOT STANDING BY THEIR CUSTOMERS (and not making their sometimes-this-sometimes-that return policy clear) is BAD BUSINESS! BEWARE!!
Monetary Loss: $380.
